Mr. Jerry David Harper, age 57, of Douglas passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at the Coffee Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. Mr. Harper, a native of Douglas, Georgia, was a farmer by trade. He was the son of the late George Harper. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Vickie Highsmith, and a twin brother, Larry Joe Harper. Mr. Harper had been attending Harvest Time Church Of God. Survivors include: His Wife: Donna Turner Harper of Douglas, Ga. Children: Ciara Nichole Vickers; Jessie Vickers; Scotty Allen Meeks, all of Douglas, Ga.; and Trent Lott of Ambrose, Ga. His Mother: Martha Bishop Smith of Douglas, Ga. 2 Brothers: Walter Joe Harper; and George Darrell Harper, both of Ambrose, Ga. Step-Mother: Evelyn Harper of Ambrose, Ga. Sister: Carla Paulk of Ambrose, Ga. 2 Granddaughters. Several Nieces, Nephews, and Other Friends and Relatives. Funeral Services were held Friday, February 12, 2010, at 2:00 P. M., at the Harvest Time Church of God, with Rev. Johnny Smith officiating. Rev. Toby Gale presented a Eulogy. The Interment followed in the Flem Harper Cemetery, near Ambrose, with Rev. Toby Gale conducting the Graveside Services. Active Pallbearers were: Shelton Graham, Herman Moore, Gary Lott, James Cumbass, Daryl Cumbass, Steve Herring, Jason McCoy, James Turner, Aaron Gieger, and Trent Lott. Special Musical Selections, “Jesus, Take The Wheel”, was presented by Shelby Croft, with CD Music, “It’s Not Goodbye”, was presented by Kim Croft, with CD Music, and “Beulah Land”, was presented by Rev. Toby Gale, with CD Music. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the Arrangements.
