Ms. Kellie Wade Thacker, age 51, of Douglas passed away early Saturday morning, November 7, 2009, at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, following an extended illness. Ms. Thacker, a native of Douglas, was a retired Makeup Artist and Manicurist. She was the mother of the late William Jacob “Jake” Thacker, and the daughter of the late Luther Whitney Wade, Jr. Ms. Thacker was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include: Her Mother: Janet Kelly Wade of Douglas, Ga. 1 Sister: Marsha W. and husband, Jeffrey Hatfield of Cartersville, Ga. 2 Brothers: Shirley and husband Jeffrey Wade; and Brad Wade, all of Douglas, Ga. Several Nieces, Nephews, and Other Relatives. Funeral Services were held Monday, November 9, 2009, at 2:00 P. M., at the First Baptist Church, with Dr. Shep Johnson officiating. The Interment followed in the Salem Cemetery, with a Special Eulogy being presented by Bill Wade, and a Special closing Hymn, “Amazing Grace”, presented by the congregation and led by Dr. Diskin Morgan. Active Pallbearers were: Mike Wills, B. J. Wade, Jay Thompson, Willie Essary, Joel Williams, and Douglas Wade. Special Musical Selections, “Beulah Land”, “Someone To Care”, were presented by Dr. Diskin Morgan, with Taped Music, and “Softly And Tenderly”, was rendered by Dr. Diskin Morgan, with Marsha Gilliard, at the Piano. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude”, soft hymns were presented by Taped Music.
