Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Fox Freeman, age 79, of Douglas passed away Monday, October 12, 2009, at her residence, following a short illness. Mrs. Freeman, a native of Floyd County, had lived in the Douglas area for many years. She was the daughter of the late Paul Franklin Fox and the late Maudie Estelle Reynolds Fox, and the wife of the late Martin Kenneth Freeman. She had worked with AT & T and Lucent Technologies of Atlanta, where she was a Telecommunications Specialist. Survivors include: 2 Brothers: Jerry (Willene) Fox of Blackshear, Ga.; Jimmy (Elaine) Fox of Douglas, Ga.; Daughter of her heart: Julie (Kevin) Wells of Douglas, Ga.; Niece: Paige Crump of Dublin, Ga.; Nephew: Don (Tammy) Hamaty of Decatur, Ga.; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Other Relatives. Funeral Services were held Friday morning, October 16, 2009, at 11:00 A. M., at the West Ward Street Church Of God, with Rev. Leroy Spivey and Rev. Britt Peavy officiating. The Interment followed in the Douglas City Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were: Joe Auger, Joel Auger, Richard Crump, Scott Maddox, Kevin Wells, and Benny Peterson. Special Musical Selections, “When They Ring Those Golden Bells”, presented by the Soloist, Robert Brannon, with Delorice Brannon, at the Piano, and “Seranaded By Angels”, presented Acappella by the Soloist, Robert Brannon. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude” soft hymns were presented by the Pianist, Kathryn Threat.
