Mrs. Mary Lee Story Carver, age 89, of Ambrose passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at the Coffee Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. Mrs. Carver was a native and life long resident of Coffee County. She was the daughter of the late Allen Story and the late Ardelia Malphus Story. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer “Buddy” Carver, and 2 daughters, Earnell Carver, and Vernell C. Williams. Mrs. Carver was a Baptist by faith. Survivors include: 3 Sons: W. A. (Amelia) Carver of Wray, Ga. T. J. (Brenda) Carver, and Billy (Cathy) Carver, both of Ambrose, Ga. 1 Brother: Bobby (Bernice) Story of Douglas, Ga. 1 Sister: Lois Harper of Douglas, Ga. 11 Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, and Other Relatives. Graveside Services and Interment were held Friday morning, October 2, 2009, at 11:00 A. M., at the New Hope Cemetery, with Rev. Silas Carver and Rev. William Pope officiating. Active Pallbearers were: Jody Hall, Michael Merritt, Rev. Silas “Doodle Bug” Carver, Rev. William Pope, W. A. Carver, Jr., and Buddy Carver. Honorary Pallbearers were: Lora Lee Carver, Hope Hall, Sherry Carver, Susan Carver, Loye Pope, Synda Carver, and Cole Carver. Special Musical Selections, “I’ve Got More To Go To Heaven For”, was rendered acappella by Jody Hall, Sherry Carver, and Cindy Carver, and “Amazing Grace”, was presented by Jody Hall, on the Harmonica.
