Mr. J.L. Lott, age 69, of Douglas passed away Monday Night, September 28, 2009, at Coffee Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. Mr. Lott, a native and life long resident of Coffee County, was a retired Insurance Agent. He and his wife also owned Shady Pines Mobile Home Park. He was the son of the late Lewis Lott, Sr. and the late Ardonia Spivey Lott. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Lott. Mr. Lott was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include: His Wife: Geneva Myers Lott of Douglas, Ga. 2 Daughters: Angela L. Harrell, and Valerie L. Davenport, both of Douglas, Ga. 1 Son: Lawrence Lott of Moultrie, Ga. 6 Grandchildren, and 2 Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, and Other Relatives. Funeral Services were held Thursday, October 1, 2009, at 3:00 P.M., at Pine Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Carver, officiating. The Interment followed in the Satilla Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Foye King presiding. Active Pallbearers were: Ricky Myers, Terry Myers, Randy Meeler, Stuart Thrift, Haree Thrift, Steve Lott, Lamar Lott, and Larry Lott. Honorary Pallbearers were: Buck Wiggins, Ronnie Wiggins, Fred Meeler, Jack Harper, Richard Lanier, Martin Sears, Johnny Wayne Jowers, and Roy White. Special Musical Selections, “Precious Memories”, were presented by the Soloist, Michael Purvis, with Karen Purvis, at the Piano, “Granddaddy”, was presented by CD Taped Music, and “Go Rest High On That Mountain”, was rendered by the Soloist, Shanda Jowers, with Taped Music. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude”, soft hymns were rendered by the Pianist, Karen Purvis.
