Mr. Andrew McKinnon, age 72, of the Mora Community, passed away Saturday afternoon, September 19, 2009, at Coffee Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. Mr. McKinnon, a native and life long resident of Coffee County, was a prominent farmer of the Mora Community. He was also an avid Fisherman. He was the son of the late Monroe McKinnon and the late Mary Jane Carver McKinnon. He was also preceded in death by 3 Brothers, Edward McKinnon, Randall McKinnon, and Bobby McKinnon. Mr. McKinnon was a Deacon and Member of the Mora Baptist Church. Survivors include: His Wife: Lucille Giddens McKinnon of Willacoochee, Ga. 2 Daughters: Tammie (Joey) Morris of Pearson, Ga. Denise (Richard) Luke of Douglas, Ga. 4 Grandchildren: Drew Morris, and Blake Morris, both of Pearson, Ga. Jordan Luke, and Brady Luke, both of Douglas, Ga. 3 Brothers: Harvey McKinnon of Douglas, Ga. Arlen (Betty) McKinnon, and Monroe (Marie) McKinnon, Jr. all of Willacoochee, Ga. 5 Sisters: Willie Mae McKinnon ; Louise Mauldin ; and Florine Phillips, all of Douglas, Betty Jean Soles of Willacoochee, Ga., and Martha (Billy) Denton of Broxton, Ga. 3 Sisters-In-Law: Mavis McKinnon , Dollie McKinnon , and Irene McKinnon, all of Douglas, Ga. Several Nieces, Nephews, and Other Relatives. Funeral Services were held Monday, September 21, 2009, at 3:00 P.M., at Mora Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dennis Harper, Rev. Bobby Fussell, and Rev. Ed Gilliard officiating. The Interment followed in the Mora Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were: Wayne McKinnon, Jerry McKinnon, Arlen McKinnon, Jr., Travis McKinnon, Greg Soles, and Terrell Phillips. Honorary Pallbearers were: Johnny Burch, Willie Burch, Herman Beasley, Marshall Kirkland, Eddie O’Steen, Plenn Moore, Larry Benton, Roy Haskins, Chesley Whittington, Wallace Youngblood, and Employees of South Georgia Business Products. Special Musical Selections, “Beulah Land”, was presented by the Soloist, Derek Soles, with Jessica Griffin, at the Piano, “Another Soldier Is Coming Home”, was presented by the Soloist, Angie O’Steen, with Taped Music, and “Simple Love”, was presented by Taped CD Music. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude”, soft hymns were rendered by the Pianist, Al Wayne Hulsey.
