Betty Lou Dobbs Riggins, age 76, of Douglas GA passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at coffee Regional medical Center in Douglas GA. Ms. Riggins, a native of Coffee County, Georgia was born June 08, 1933; she is the daughter of the late Harmon & Minnie Rowell Dobbs. She was a retired steam-stress & widow of the late Johnny David Riggins. She was a member of Salem Holiness Baptist Church. Survivors include: Daughter, Brenda (Andrew) Thomas, Douglas GA, Sons, Lamar David Riggins, Douglas GA, Jerry Lynn (Scarlett) Riggins, Pearson GA, Grandchildren, Andy Thomas, Brooke Thomas, Shawn Riggins, Johnny Riggins & Shanna Anthony & Four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 17, 2009, at Salem Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Greene officiating. The Special music was by Soloist, Dennis Hursey sang, “I Call It Home” & the Congregation sang, “Amazing Grace” with Betty Smith, Pianist. Burial followed in the New Hope Church Cemetery near Ambrose GA. Active pallbearers were: Andy Thomas, Shawn Riggins, Johnny Riggins, Randolph Dobbs, Sammy Anthony & Brooke Thomas.
