Mrs. Gatha (Gail) Taylor Childers, age 78, of Douglas passed away Monday, September 14, 2009, at her residence, following an extended illness. Mrs. Childers, a native of Marion County, Alabama, had lived in the Douglas area for many years. She was the daughter of the late Clarence Taylor and the late Edgar Wilson Taylor. She was also preceded in death by a son: Roland Billy Giddens, and two brothers: Eugene Taylor and Bobby G. Taylor. Survivors include: Her Husband: Richard Childers of Douglas, Ga. 1 Daughter: Patricia (Will) Hope of Douglas, Ga. 2 Step-Daughters: Donnis McGee of Moultrie, Ga.; and Debra Sellers of Cairo, Ga. 2 Sisters: Omie Lee Hutchinson of Tifton, Ga.; and Anna Powell of Omega, Ga. 2 Grandsons: Richie (Melanie) Giddens of Conyers, Ga. and Scott Lewis of Savannah, Ga. 1 Granddaughter: Kimberly (Chris) Marschal of Douglas, Ga. 1 Great Grandson: Cameron Taylor Marschal of Douglas,Ga. A Special Friend: “Jo Jo”. Several Nieces, Nephews, and Other Relatives. Gravesides Services and Interment were held Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:00 A. M., at the Douglas City Cemetery, with Rev. George C. Paulk officiating. Active pallbearers were: Jack Childers, Jamie Carter, Darrell Wooten, Junior Sutton, Bill Childers, Ricky Sutton, Timothy Wooten, and Joey Wooten.
