Mr. Anthony Davis, age 46, of Douglas, passed away suddenly Friday morning, September 11, 2009, in San Antonio, Texas, following a brief illness. Mr. Davis, a native of Douglas, Georgia, was a Contractor with Modular Homes while working in Texas. Survivors include: His Wife: Mary Hilton Davis of Douglas, Ga. 4 Children: Dewayne Davis, and Charley Willyard, both of Douglas, Ga. Tonya Davis of Covington, Ga., and Rebecca Willyard-Deese of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Parents: Freddie and Betty Jean Davis of Douglas, Ga. 3 Brothers: Michael (Hazel) Davis; John (Christine) Davis; and Freddie Davis, Jr., all of Douglas, Ga. 1 Sister: Brenda Davis, and husband Fred Spires of Douglas, Ga. 5 Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, and Other Relatives. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at 4:00 P. M., at the First Assembly of God, with Rev. Gerald Gardner, and Rev. Leon “Mann” Kirkland officiating. The Interment followed in the Douglas City Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were: Timmy White, Terry Morgan, Timmy Morgan, David Gray, Daniel Gilliard, and Terry Fussell. Honorary Pallbearers were: Members & Staff of the Douglas Fire Department, Coffee County Volunteer Fire Department, R. O. Mitchell, Paul Hutcheson, Fred Barrs, Jimmy Wiggins, and Design Space Employees. Special Musical Selections, “Son Of A Son Of A Sailor”, presented by CD Music, “Dance With My Father”, presented by CD Music, “Go Rest High On That Mountain”, presented by Scott & Joyce Roberts, with Taped Music, and “Amazing Grace”, presented by Taped Music. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude”, soft hymns were rendered by the Pianist, Scott Roberts.
