Arthur James Bryce, Jr., age 84, of Douglas GA passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at home. Mr. Bryce, a native of Penobscot County, Maine was born November 15, 1924; he is the son of the late Arthur James, Sr. & Ethel Bernice Grant Bryce. He was a Veteran of the US Army & US Air Force having served during WWII, The Korean Conflict & the Viet Nam Era. Survivors include: Wife, Eveline Sewell Bryce, Daughters, Debra Montoya & Husband, James, & Teresa Leggett & husband, Scott, Douglas GA, Sons, Ed Bryce & Wife, Mary Ann, Douglas GA, & Arthur Bryce, III, Lantana Florida, Six Grandchildren & Seven Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services were held 2:00 PM, August 22, 2009, in the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Aldridge officiating. Special taped selections of “I Can Only Imagine”, “When I Get Where I’m Going” & “Go Rest High On That Mountain” were provided. Active pallbearers: James Montago, Tillman spivey, Wendell Johnson, James Johnson & Eric Bryce. Graveside services with Military Honors provided by Moody Air Force Base & Burial followed in the Harrell Grove Church Cemetery. Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
