Mr. Carrol Lamar Watson, age 62, of Douglas GA passed away on Friday July 31, 2009, at home. Mr. Watson, a native of Berrien County, Georgia was born November 02, 1946; he is the son of the late Willis Watson. He was a mechanic employed with the City of Douglas retiring after 29 years & a member of the Rocky Pond Baptist Church. Brother, Tony Watson preceded him in death. Survivors include: Wife, Gelene Greer Watson, Douglas GA, Daughters, Jackie Watson, Tina Foskey & Husband, Calvin, Douglas GA, Son, Darren Watson, Douglas GA, Mother, Juanita Hall Watson, Douglas GA, Sister, Janice Taylor, Douglas GA & Grandchildren, Jonnathon Watson, Reagan Watson, Chiann Watson, Andrew Watson, Hunter McQueen, Anthony McQueen & Allen Foskey. Funeral services were held 4:00 PM, Sunday, August 02, 2009 at Rocky Pond Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Stone & Rev. Lonnie Spikes officiating Soloist Daryl McClelland sang, “Amazing Grace” & Soloist, Jana Merritt sang, “Go Rest High On That Mountain” & “Daddy’s Hands”; also the Rocky Pond Church Choir sang, “I’ll Meet You By The river” with Betty Smith, Pianist providing soft music for the prelude & postlude. Burial followed in the Douglas City Cemetery. Active pallbearers were: Albert Watson, Michael Taylor, Julian Thomas, Jerry Thomas, Michael Tanner & Bobby Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers were: Employees of City of Douglas & Allen Foskey. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
