Mr. George Ricketson, age 90. of Versailles, Indiana, formerly of Coffee County, passed away Monday, May 24, 2010, in Osgood, Indiana, following an extended illness. Mr. Ricketson a native of Coffee County was a retired Dry Wall Installer. He was the son of the late Reason Ricketson and the late Lola Trowell Ricketson. He retired after 20 years of Service with the U. S. Army, and the U. S. Air Force. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era. He was also a P. O. W. for some time. Survivors include: His Wife: Lilly P. Ricketson of Douglas, Ga. Children: Loretta Westmoreland of Gainesville, Florida, Gwendolyn Whitman of Columbia, South Carolina, Marilyn Webb of Versailles, Indiana, Robert Ricketson of Lake Buchanan, Texas, and Selina Shiver of Brownwood, Texas. 9 Grandchildren and a number of Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives. Funeral Services were held Saturday, May 29, 2010, at 11:00 A. M., at the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home, with Rev. Britt Peavy officiating. The Interment followed in the Reedy Branch Cemetery with Military Rites being presented by Personnel from Moody Air Force Base, including the Casket Bearers, Flag Detail, Firing Squad, and Bugler. Special Musical Selections, “I’ll Fly Away”, “Amazing Grace”, and “How Great Thou Art”, were presented by CD Music. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the Arrangements.
