Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Dockery Morton, age 93, of Broxton passed away Tuesday evening, May 11, 2010, at the Coffee Regional Medical Center, following a short illness. Mrs. Morton, a native of White County, Ga., had lived in the Broxton area for most of her life. She was the daughter of the late George Dockery and the late Dora Raven Dockery, and the wife of the late Tom Walter Morton. Mrs. Morton was a member of the Rocky Creek Holiness Church. Survivors include: Children: Beverly (Barbara) Morton of Hazlehurst, Ga.
Joseph (Becky) Dockery of Moravian Falls, North Carolina, Tommy Morton; Gene Morton; and Rosie Johnson, all of Broxton, Ga., and Dollie (Lonnie) Smith of Douglas, Ga. Sister: Mildred Rowell of Powder Springs, Ga. Brothers: Earl Dockery of Madison, Ga.; and Jack Dockery of Cleveland, Ga. 23 Grandchildren, and 23 Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives. Funeral Services were held Friday, May 14, 2010, at 5:30 P. M., at the Rocky Creek Holiness Church, with Rev. Allen Peacock, Rev. Frank Vaughn, and Rev. Joseph Dockery officiating. The Interment followed in the Rocky Creek Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were: Brent Morton, Shane Morton, Jesse Burkhalter, Peewee Burkhalter, Jimmy Morton, Eddie Morton, Daryn Cliett, Randy Cliett, and Troy Cliett. Special Musical Selections, “How Beautiful Heaven Must Be”, and “Give Me That Old Time Religion” presented by Rev. Allen Peacock, R. L. Peacock, with Wanda Peacock, at the Piano, “When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder”, and “I’ll Fly Away”, presented by R. L. Peacock and the Pianist, Wanda Peacock. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude” soft hymns were rendered by the Pianist, Wanda Peacock.
