Mrs. Elsie Elizabeth Stegman Nobles, age 97, of Douglas passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at the Shady Acres Health & Rehabilition Center, following an extended illness. Mrs. Nobles, a native of Ellis, Kansas, was a retired Roller with King Edward Cigar Company. She was the daughter of the late George Stegman and the late Cecilia Fraudemeyer Stegman, and the wife of the late Johnny Raymond Nobles. She was also preceded in death by a son, Albert Anderson, a sister, Henrietta Fries, and a brother, Frank Stegman. Mrs. Nobles was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include: Children: Marie Thomas; Bert Anderson; and Edward Sowell, all of Jacksonville, Fla. Johnny Nobles of Douglas, Ga. Sister: Bertha Anderson of Custer, Kansas, 9 Grandchildren, and a Host of Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives. Funeral Services were held Saturday, April 24, 2010, at 11:00 A. M., at the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home, with Rev. Charles Pollard officiating. The Interment followed in the Mt. Horeb Cemetery, in Pinette, Madison County, Florida. Active Pallbearers were: Johnny Nobles, Jr., Dale Nobles, Jeffery Nobles, Randy Carver, Todd Nobles, and Dewayne Carver. Special Musical Selections, “The Old Rugged Cross”, “How Great Thou Art”, and “Sissy’s Song”, were rendered by CD Music.
