Mr. Henry Lawrence Hodges, age 92, of Douglas passed away early Saturday morning, March 6, 2010, at the Coffee Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. Mr. Hodges, a native of Coffee County, was a prominent Farmer of the Bay Meadows Community. He was the son of the late Henry Leon Hodges and the late Mollie Harrell Hodges. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II, having served in Burma. Mr. Hodges was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include: Nieces: Elizabeth Hodges Graves, Molly Hodges Hays, both of Tampa, Fla., and Mary Lott Winter of Washington, D. C.; Nephews: Oscar Harrell Lott, Jr. of Douglas, Ga. and Samuel Edward Hodges, Jr., of Leesburg, Fla. And Other Close Friends and Relatives. Funeral Services were held Saturday afternoon, March 13, 2010, at 3:00 P. M., at the First United Methodist Church, with Pastor H. Craig Hutto officiating. The Interment followed in the Douglas City Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were: Dr. Roy Lindsey, Clay Lindsey, Dr. Griff Lindsey, Thurston Harper, T. C. Griffin, and Kyle Hyers. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude”, soft hymns were rendered by the Pianist, Tania Myers.
