Mrs. Myrtle Gillespie Anderson, age 85, of Douglas passed away early Thursday morning, February 25, 2010, at the Coffee Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. Mrs. Anderson, a native of Coffee County, was the daughter of the late Julius Ashworth Gillespie and the late Sara Ruth Delilah Logue Gillespie, and the wife of the late Johnnie Anderson. She was also preceded in death by a son, Roger Anderson, and brothers, Dave Gillespie and G. A. Gillespie. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Chatterton Grove Holiness Baptist Church. Survivors include: Children: Elaine (Ray) Bond of Hoboken, Ga.; Linda Edgerton of Blackshear, Ga.; Larue (Carlis) Meeks, and Robert (Rhonda) Anderson, all of Nicholls, Ga.; And Julius David (Pat) Anderson of Alma, Ga. Sisters: Geneva Burney of Douglas, Ga.; and Gladys Frasier of Palm Coast, Florida. 16 Grandchildren; 20 Great Grandchildren; and 3 Great Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives. Funeral Services were held Saturday morning, February 27, 2010, at 11:00 A. M., at the Chatterton Grove Holiness Baptist Church, with Rev. Rob Merritt, Rev. Franklin Peacock, and Rev. Gene Chaney officiating. The Interment followed in the Chatterton Grove Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were: Jeff Edgerton, Stephen Edgerton, Scott Revels, Demery Meeks, Dale Meeks, Josh Anderson, Roger Anderson, Cody Meeks, Trevor Meeks, and Jimmy Meeks. The Congregation served as Honorary Pallbearers. Special Musical Selections, “I Am A Winner Either Way”, and “Look for Me At Jesus’ Feet”, were rendered by Carolyn Wright, Faye Adams, and the Pianist, Bonnie Musgrove, and “Jesus Is Right”, was rendered by the Soloist, Rev. Gene Chaney, with Sammy Snipes, at the Piano. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude” soft hymns were presented by the Pianist, Bonnie Musgrove.
